Julia Baker's phone is no longer idle in Australia because many snakes give birth in late summer. Having just been born or hatched, the young animals first look for a safe hiding place and then go hunting for prey. In a family's garden, Julia and her husband John look after the clutch of a female diamond python. But where did the mother go? And a baby snake has holed up in the doorway of a terraced house. The German emigrant can't get hold of the reptile Down Under with her bare hands.
